When someone share their pain and suffering what would you do ?
Compare you pain with them or ease them to safety or create empathy.
Don't compare your pain with them .
It is not always the same .
This is another trick to make them give you more information about them or about something you want .
When someone feels or seem to be depressed, etc etc ..
You just go to them and ask "What happened"
Have you done it they just feel irritated and say elaboraty to you .
When you label their pain it'll create a empathy feeling and it makes them feel secure and safe. When they feel safe they open up.
Ask this ..
"It seems like you're ...."
"It sounds like you're ...."
Do it in a downward voice.
What is downward voice ? 
Step 1 : You see a guy depressed due to something.
Step 2 : You say " It seems like you're depressed "
Step 3:  Wait for the magic to happen.
Step 4: They'll pour you with information.
